Paradox & Oxymoron

The day that this topic was explained I wasnt in class, so I did my best trying to understand what the word Paradox means.. according to the definition on dictionary.com  it is:

statement or proposition that seems self-contradictory orabsurd but in reality expresses a possible truth.

Also the definition on dictionary of oxymoron is:

A figure of speech by which a locution produces an incongruous,seemingly self-contradictory effect, as in “cruel kindness” or “tomake haste slowly.”

Example 1

This example is an oxymoron because it represents a completely different idea and it has two sides. Based also on a old techinique that we had learned called close reading I can see that this is like if you wanted to throw money away. This is kind of real also becuase theres people who actually do that, and maybe they have so much that they forget the real meaning of money and its importance. Also well the way its represented is ironic as I said before.

Example 2
This for me is another example of oxymoron because its also two ideas totally contradictory because a box of cigarettes that is something that can totally damege hoy and kill you, and crayons which is a symbol of young, happy kids and then  as i said before the box, it makes no sense. I can also think this is trying to show is the way that things like cigaretts and alcohol are taking away those really important things.

Example 3

The other two examples I think were Oxymorons but on the other hand this one I think is a paradox, I think this is because this figure is actually not possible because one of the sides or poles that is very important in order fot the cube to stand, that pole cant pass throw the back of the opposite side. That is not possible, so thats why its a paradox cause even though it seems real it cant happen
